Biomorphic Couture

Sıla is a first generation Turkish immigrant whose work revolves around nature, biology, math, and textile sciences.

With a background in textile technology and bio-inspired renewable design, they typically work with fabric and soft goods, inspired by nature with sustainability in mind.

The theme of masks and headgear is a reflection on their muslim upbringing and hijabs— the very item that is supposed to hide you makes you more visible.
